Lac de Schiessrothried: a hidden gem at the foot of the Hohneck
On the mountainside, in the heart of the Vosges massif, Lac de Schiessrothried entices with its wild atmosphere and unique history. Once a high-altitude marsh, it was transformed into a mountain lake by constructing a small dam, now offering a peaceful body of water surrounded by forests and steep slopes.
The hike leading to it is an experience in itself: throughout the ascent towards the Hohneck, one of the highest peaks in the Vosges, this lake can be admired in its natural setting, with breathtaking plunging views.

février 202520min de marché car la circulation est interdite sauf autorisation. Un petit tour du lac de 30 min de quoi découvrir une petite cascade en milieu de sentier.

novembre 2023Ancienne tourbière devenue lac après l'édification d'un barrage discret, ses eaux rejoignent la rivière Fecht via le petit ruisseau du Wormsabachrunz. Ce site glacière se situant au pied du Hohneck le long du GR5 n'est accessible qu'à pied ou en vtt, le parking le plus proche se situant à la station du Gaschney. un refuge avec gardien se trouve à proximité de ce superbe endroit situé dans le couloir du Wormspel reconnu pour sa flore et sa faune..
